daz there are lot of young guns hope the push on this year the fear for me is HB only brough proven super league player and gaskill and kids cover would like to see us sign one more proven player .

But where would we play him ? We have Brough/Brierley/Gaskell and then Izaak Farrell waiting in the wings, so unless we have 2-3 out at one time we will have a player sat in the stand every week which seems a waste of a wage to me.

? of gaskell fitness brough is not getting any younger . brierley young lad a big year for him but still not proven a super league hb same with farrell . still would like to see a proven hd in the squad . so if we do get run of bad luck brough could go to hooker or brierly to fb. if needed after last year do we wont to risk a small squad again.

Not been funny but if a genuine proven half back was available do you not think we or anyone else would have not signed him up by now ?

plus we haven't got a small squad this year.

I would like us to be looking for Broughs replacement at some point, as you say he can't go on forever though he probably misses less games than most, he still has a bit of pace and he doesn't shirk on tackling, He is still our playmaker but i feel with Brierley on the field he may not get quite as much attention as he used too so that may be a good thing.

For me i would play him and Brierley first choice for as much as possible, Brierley has all the skills and he needs a chance to settle in, Yes he isn't the best playmaker " yet " and he may never be so, He is not the best defender in the side, although he is not that bad, What he is is a try scorer, he backs up just about every move that shows any promise, Hopefully RS will be making this clear to one or two of the other players. Score tries you win more games than you lose.
Gaskill is good enough cover for the halves, plus we have youngsters, That said i wouldn't turn down either Joe Mellor or M Ridyard if they came available.

you would have to think they will go with murphy and ormsby on the left side

gaskell full back, we shall see next weds at wire

i have no problem with murphy and ormsby on one side

Why all the panic re HB, sure its a major position requiring certain skills, Cudjoe has played there, maybe Simpson, or others, look at Saints, they have used Lomax a FB, Wilkins a "2nd row forward, and other unlikely players, a really good mobile player could slot in to cover an injury, ok if botth HBs are out at the same time (can happen but not likely)we are in trouble, calm down, we will be ok.

He is a mediocre centre at best
Never played well for us in that position
