But he also backed it up.
He made a big enough deal that the redhead to do something but when he got the justified penalty he took the first ball up hard to make the point.
I thought he'd do well here but he has started slowly up to now. This game showed what he can do and hopefully it's a watershed moment where he becomes a fan favourite.

Reece is having a good season, he is a really strong runner and is causing teams trouble.

As we have drifted onto Horo, this was definitely his best so far. But in fairness to him, he has been very good for the last three games.

No one is going to pick Lyne over Watkins but a lot of it has to do with style.
Watkins is tall and a smooth runner and looks class even when he isn't.
Lyne appears shorter with a raw muscle frame. He has an awkward running style and just looks like it was a lucky break or a mistake by the opposition.
But Lyne is just as effective as a running centre.
He has improved his passing game but it just doesn't look a classy as Watkins.
I doubt he'll play for England because of his style and the shift he wears but at club level he compares favourably to any of his opponents.

I think it’s more basic than that tbh. Lyne has done great but he looks like what he and so many other SL players are and that’s a jack of all trades back.

Watkins is better in every way because he’s a genuine centre and has been for most of his career. It’s all second nature with him where as Lyne has to think, that imo is why Watkins looks and is smoother.

The tragedy is that Watkins is the best we have and against the Aussies he’s shown up for what he really is which is ordinary.

The amount of SL players who lack the core skills for the positions they play is truly scary which to me suggests the coaching in the UK is flawed at every level and has been for years

As far as other team's centre go I really do like Gildart and Percival after Watkins.
