A huge difference between business names and where the term comes from, Yank is a derogative term, but it's not the first time RLFans hasn't understood the provinence of language. Rl isn't an intelligent sport.

My understanding of the term Yankee, originates from the Indiginous Native word Yengese, meaning English, in relation to the original white settlers and became the term for all Americans. The term is not derogatory, a very popular Philip Souza composition “Over There” has the words “ The Yanks are coming”. Snowflakism has found new bounds

Yankee means someone from the northern states of the US so is a very offensive thing to call someone from one of the treasonous slavery states.

An american is someone from anywhere in the Americas so calling someone from the US an american is insulting because people from the US hate everyone else in the Americas.

The only correct and unoffensive term for someone from the benighted states is Merkin.
