I just watched the Super League show interview Chris gave. I have to admit, there was a tear in my eye just the same as his. He loves the club. He is a good coach and has had some stinking luck this year. He is young and I bet he has learned a lot from this. He had a similar experience with injuries and bad luck at Rovers and they gave him the push; prematurely and a decision I bet a few of them regret now. He fits our club and its ethos perfectly. We are a family club. My partner of the last couple of years likes her sport, though not with my fanaticism. I have converted her to the Trin, though I think Jacob Miller's bottom is a big pull in that regard. It's quite good apparently. My sport hating brother agreed at the Salford match :lol:
But one thing she has noticed both when we sit in the East stand and when we go for the occasional dinner job, is the family nature of the club. She said it's like everyone cares and is together. You can have a good chat with the Chairman and chief exec. The players too. The old heroes, and my old friends of years of sitting together. She really loves coming and the club makes me proud. And Chris Chester is both a superb coach and a great ambassador for the club and, from what I have seen and heard, a bloody good guy. Delighted you continue to succeed with us Chris and long may it continue.

Chris goes in my local and always has time for a word about rugby. He's a good guy.
I like others on here have questioned his decisions, but I always respected that he put whatever team out, in the belief it was the best - most times it was, and certainly the last one was!

Nothing wrong with questioning only how it’s done, I actually think Chris’s has been treated pretty fairly on this forum compared to some previous coaches.

It’s a make or break season next year for CC and in fairness I think he knows it. Injuries again will play a part but I think he knows he can’t end up here twice, the world is never that understanding.

One thing for sure, if coaching is a learning curve then he’s now ticked most of the boxes that’s for sure.

Very fair comments so far.

I think Chris Chester is an excellent fit for Wakefield.

However in the close season we must not paper over the cracks of how we nearly were relegated.
Injuries apart we failed to recognise other problems that were affecting the team.

A director of rugby may have made the difference when CC was unable to see the wood from the trees. If JK has flown the nest, there are plenty of former coaches or players that may fit the role.
