Benefit of the doubt for Currie this year although I was alarmed when he was treading water chasing back v Cas the other night first half I think it ended up with Lineham showing the player the inside and Ratchford making the tackle

When considering style of play we need to consider that we were without our two first choice half backs for the final third of the season when our style of play fell away.

Outside back looks covered with that kid from Swinton.

I’d be tempted to push Hughes to 13 for 2020 and start Currie & BMM in the back row. So potentially add another backrower.

Should have plenty of cap space available.

Completely agree with this, Hughes looked very good the times i've seen him play at 13. BMM has shed alot of excess weight and definately played longer minutes when he came back from injury, and his best form was at Salford when he started games.
For me we need a solid old school good minutes prop or 2, Gelling will take Over from Goodwin, not a massive fan but i'm willing to give him a chance.
Ashton is a very fast player and could develop in to a great super league winger, Kibula i've never seen play and until he was mentioned 2-3 weeks on here before the club announced him i'd never heard of him. So i have no opinion other than lets see what he can do and if he can develop whilst with us.
Burrell i really think is too big and not agile enough for a league centre, and i hope he moves in to the pack. Get a good pre-season behind him and we'll see what he can do next year.

He's always seemed on the Outer with Price, shame as I think there is a talented rugby player in there.

Talk about Ashton ,it's to be hoped he gets better service than our other wingers or he will be just an extra prop & i can't really see any of the new intake of youngsters improving during their time at Warrington ,not with our present coaching set up. They will finish up making up numbers in the A team while the management ponder the accounts to bring in more under performing overseas players for inflated wages.

Serious question here, based on the OP. Do we think, based on the whole season that Austin has been 'superb'? Some flashes of brilliance, yes. But overall i've been underwhelmed considering the money the guys on....

We need a poophouse prop, and some decent centres that can put our wingers away, instead of them being glorfied forwards all game......

Livett pre mid season 2018 injury was arguably the best player in our squad. He and Hughes were my first two picks.
Livett did himself no favours coming back at 2018 Wembley unfit and got found out...he stunk the place out. He's not really had the opportunity since to rectify it.

I think he's been great, he was top of the man of steel points at the time of his injury and although I sometimes think he was given that for 'only' one moment of brilliance in a game he's been good value for me. He's probably been given more responsibility than he has ever had before in terms of organising and kicking. I think he could be a greater threat next season when Widdop is taking over the organising and kicking duties - let him concentrate on his running game. He probably still needs to prove himself however as a 'big game' player, but i'm excited about the halves combo for next year.

On the wingers issue, Price was coaching the side when Charnley was running in at a rate of 1+ try per game last season. He can get the team playing, but yardage will always be a big part of a wingers remit in the modern game. Full Back, Halves and Back Row are all equally as important to putting the wingers away as the centres these days. We have the players to make that happen, we just need to make sure the attacking structure is right on their inside.

Would love to see us sign someone like Oliver Gildart, different to the biff and bash centres that are popular nowadays and had genuine pace that can frighten defenders, and a good passing game.

Genuinely been slightly underwhelmed with Austin but don't think that's his fault. Due to having a poor HB partner I believe the shackles were put on and he's been easily marked and also instructed to smash it into the heavens on the fifth tackle. He's not a thinking half-back (which is what we need) but him and Widdop should make perfect partners and if they are on the field a lot next year then we better make sure we are giving them plenty of attacking options to work with.
