I believe that well-known champagne socialist Pearman was the cause of the club going belly up following his joining Ted with the promise of a major financial input from Pearman, supposedly based on some land that Pearman claimed he owned, the portacabin hospitality suite was 'purchased' on the backing of said investment, Trinity went belly up without paying the bill. If I remember correctly the suppliers were discussing dismantling it but they eventually agreed to a nominal payment, the cost of removing it would have just added to their loss. As far as I am aware of the 'erection' did have planning permission. Another wonderful Labour council leader who always represented the City in it's best interests, allegedly. Wonder what he's up to these days.
