I think its strange on these smaller grounds when the 10 metres lines are not 10 metres apart, should be banned, mind you wouldn't that ban most football grounds too?
In truth though, it's not a requirement that there is 10m between what we now call the 30 and 40m lines.
The 30m line must be 10m from the 20 and the 40m line must be 10m from the HW.
It's only really the modern parlance that has brought it into focus.

Isn't it because a rule was introduced that the dead-ball line has to be a certain distance from the hoardings, for safety reasons, meaning that an old ground like Wheldon Road that probably once had the dead-ball line right up against the fences had to squish the main playing area a bit in order to accommodate the rule?
From a spectator standpoint, I think the Warrington ground gets it right. The playing action is right by the pitch, and even when only 8,000 are on there is still a good atmosphere. 8,000 at Wigan or Huddersfield feels empty and devoid of any atmosphere.
Of the new grounds, I'm not a fan of the Saints ground. I was a big fan of Knowsley Road. So intimidating and the new one doesn't have the same feel at all. I get the economic arguments for a bigger ground, but I don't find the atmosphere as good.
Because of the footprint, however, if we ever get a redeveloped Belle Vue, there is a chance of a better experience without sacrificing the atmosphere.

8000 at Huddersfield and you've turned up on the wrong night but, it's a horrible ground when it's empty
Emerald Headingley stadium has been almost totally revamped in recent years (Apart from the Western Terrace) and is without a doubt the best RL ground in the country both from a fans point of view and also a corporate businessman's point of view

Apart from the western terrace your words, once that gets upgraded then I'm sure you can call it the best ground in this country, till then for away fans it's no different to the Wakey and Cas grounds, and the parking is even worse.

Corporate, you are possibly right and home fans are well catered for but, for away fans on the Western Terrace, Headingley is right down at the bottom of the pile. The revamp is like decorating bedroom and not papering behind the wardrobe and not bothering to carpet under the bed. 75% great and 25% awful and I know that BV is awful but, Headingley is definitely not the best RL ground in SL, sorry.
