It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Perhaps I should have asked Denis Betts as I bumped into him in Manchester last night. Think they are planning some kind of presentation / donation for Robbie.

Nice bloke Denis.

Good showing from a young Leeds side. Sam Walters a standout. Poor refereeing also

I was impressed with Corey Hall, Sam Walters and Iwan Stephens. Reserve Grade RL will be a very good watch if the majority of that team plays in that. You’d have to add Corey Johnson, Alex Sutcliffe in there also, but a few will go to Featherstone on DR and Bradfords loan deals too.

Walters by far but I also think Hall could in a few years step up.. Macelland showed some nice touches.

Walters showed exactly why some people know what they are talking about with youngsters and others don’t. He looked clear ready to have a proper a plan on development. Not ready for a first choice shirt, but ready to utilise in the first team when opportunity permits. We should have been looking to use him six to eight games this year, with dual reg for the rest. That is how you develop him. The likelihood of that happening is slim, as we have a big quantity of players and overlooked his potential.

The backs of Stephens and Hall showed again why there was no need to go out and make a desperate cover signing. For when it will be required, they could have done the job. The backs short in first team, should have been addressed with quality if deemed required, instead of a bit part to stump others.

Thought McLelland looked much better than other preseason games, and especially considering the age of the team he was driving around. Impressed.

Also thought Burton gave a good account of himself. Didn’t see Ollie as a potential super league, but thought he pushed himself to that bracket last night. Much better option than messing about with Whitely, who had his chance previous and nothing will change for his future.

Bit of a stop start affair tbh. Like others said Walters was the stand out for Leeds he’s a real handful. I thought Mustapha and holdroyd were given a tough time and it led to a bit of frustration and a few penalties. Credit where it’s due the young Leeds team never gave up.

For fev it was workmanlike and no better. Still not convinced DR will work with the squad fev have put together,I don’t see too many Leeds lads getting into fevs best 17-19 with fev definitely contenders for promotion they would be stupid to break up the team especially in pivotal positions but it’s a long season and a lot can change quickly.
