This time around, it should be a trickier decision, because Broughy wasn't exactly on fire pre-injury, and Jowitt is doing very well; so yes, I'll be disappointed if he steps aside, and I see no contradiction between that and my original point.

What's stupid is to suggest that CC has a grudge against Max Jowitt; it's patently and self-evidently stupid.

In your opinion Grix was better than Jowitt at the time, which I suppose validates your self evidently stupid biased opinion that nobody can argue with that or your opinion, well there are plenty on here would argue that it does not make sense that Grix was first choice, so just to sum up then, it was alright to put Grix straight back in the side irrespective of Jowitts form but you would find it disappointing if Jowitt got dropped and not stepped aside for Brough, and you don't find that contradictory.

Maybe Redcaps suggestion that Chester has a grudge against Jowitt is off the mark, but to a lot of people on here it seems that he's just a stop gap used by Chester as and when, which as the coach is down to him which if your a Jowitt fan makes it also patently evidently stupid.

Was this when we played Salford, in the league and then the Cup.
Jowitt was mom in the league encounter and then left out for the cup game (may have been the other way round).
It was certainly harsh treatment for the lad and right now, he should be given as long as possible in his current role.

Certainly our attack is more potent than it has been with either Hampshire or Brough in the halves.

Mind you, Brough brings more with his kicking game and Hampshire with his speed / elusive skills but, we have to stick with what we have.
There is still improvement in the Miller /Jowitt partnership.
Miller seems a better player when he's allowed to play, something which, with Brough in the side, he doesn't always seem to do.

Ever since his injury last year Brough’s kicking game hasn’t fairedd better than Hampshire’s or Miller’s or Jowitt’s.

Jowit did play in the league game and Grix in the cup .Jowitt dropped one high ball but caught about 7 while running at full speed also made a break of 60 yds to set up the winning try . Grix failed to take 7 + high balls wich put us under pressure .Think we lost by well over 30 points , though we did have a weeker team out

Quote from Chessie in this weeks League Express..."Broughy has a job on trying to get Max Jowitt out of the shirt at the moment.....It's obviously a boost to get Broughy back, but competition for places means you've got to earn your place in this team...I've had to hold him back a bit. It's great that he wants to play and he'll be raring to go this weekend".

Mixed messages in that for me....yes, he's been impressed with Jowitt and he might stick with him, but Brough is also good to go ???

Possibly...thought Milky went okay against Hull, but could potentially give him a rest against Bradford this week ??

That's how i'd do it. We don't want to be going for wholesale changes but it's a good oppotunity for some guys who haven't had much first team action yet this season like Brough, Batchelor, King, Kershaw & Kirmond to get a go in the 17 and a chance for other to rest any knocks. The squad depth is there this year and it doesn't weaken us much and whilst i'm sure Kear will have Bradford fired up we should still have way too much for them.

Yes, in my opinion - I'm not sure how I could write any other way; nor do I feel the need to qualify every statement by saying "in my opinion" - it seems a given that if I'm writing it, it's my opinion.

Again - I think it was justified to select Grix over Jowitt *at the time.* I don't think it would be justified to stand him down now, *at this time*; there is no contradiction in that, because the two situations are not identical. Although I can see the logic in wanting Brough on the field if he's fit - he's got years of experience and still reads a game better than most. Maybe the answer is to rest Miller, or drop Max to fb and leave out Walker?

Yes it was off the mark - it's crazy to think that a coach who's job is based on results would deliberately overlook a player who could deliver those results, because of some childish personal grudge.
