What a pleasure : Mon Apr 13, 2020 9:19 pm
I have just had the pleasure of watching the 2005 chalenge cup semi-final v Saints followed by the final v leeds on You know what Tube.

It was so great just watching a Hull team play with such passion, the forwards running onto the ball, the team hunting in packs at the tackle. Richard Swain showing just how to play the Hooker role (Boy he was great).

Any Hull coach please watch these games and get the side playing like that, I forgot just how much passion the team played with.

If your bored like me with the prision cell of the house you wouldnt go wrong to go seak the games out and watch them again.

Thank you John Kear for making my night.

Yes I watched that yesterday. What a great game.
McMenemy was truly outstanding. Carvell, Thackery and Swain weren't far behind.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

I rarely post on here, but this was one of my favourite rugby league games ever.
It was flipping rubbish that it was you lot, but tactically you were superb that day, kicked Saints to death.
I also really enjoyed the 1985 game the other Saturday.
My Dad took me to that game, even though as our nearest team he'd decided I would be a Rovers fan, we went down on Charlie Pearson's coach, " I Heard It Through The Grapevine" by Margin Gaye was Number One because of the Levi's advert,Wembley Way was amazing.
Watching the game back, if Crooks or Schofield had their kicking boots, you were home and hosed.
Leuluai's try, fantastic, etched into my brain forever.

The game was only bettered by the Saints fans afterwards. Pure class.

I Heard it Through the Grapevine didn’t re-enter the UK charts until 1986 when it peaked at number 8.

From Wikipedia:
In 1985, one year following Gaye's death, the song was re-released in the UK reaching number eight thanks to a Levi's commercial (starring Nick Kamen)

Discogs
Marvin Gaye ‎– I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Label: Tamla Motown ‎– WK 72374
Format: Cassette, Album, Reissue
Country: Europe
Released: Apr 1985
Genre: Funk / Soul
Style: Soul

Rob Barker / >https://everyuknumber1.com

The world was left stunned on 1 April 1984 when the news came out that Marvin Gaye had been shot dead by his own father. He was only 44. Years of bad blood had come to a head and ended in the worst possible way. Marvin had intervened in an argument between his mother and father, and Marvin Gaye Sr shot his own son twice. He was initially charged with murder but his sentence was reduced to voluntary manslaughter when it was discovered he had, of all things, a brain tumour. He died in a nursing home in 1998.

It’s likely my first exposure to I Heard It Through the Grapevine was in 1985, when Gaye’s version was copied and used in a Levi’s advert. One of the most famous commercials of the decade, it made Nick Kamen, the man who strips down to his boxers, into a star. It also propelled Gaye to number eight in the singles chart. Carling Black Label spoofed the ad the following year, which starred Steve Frost and Mark Arden.

Spegs is correct. I Heard it Through the Grapevine was reissued in April 1986, 100% definite. It reached number 8 in the UK singles chart

Isiah - the catalogue number you quote is an album.
