Mr. Worthington's exact quote was "We have been given multiple dates on multiple occasions by David Argylle as to when we will get paid and I have been let down every time"

A reality far removed from the Trolls saying he doesn't have the money. :D

Of course he has, or can access, the money (in July TWP apparently only needed a £200k loan to see out the season!). He's got bored with his new toy and taken advantage of the pandemic as a convenient excuse to bail out.

Pleased you get the obvious :)

Daft idea in the first place but he took it all the way. Argyle likes the fun and banter of Rugby League but I am sure he got nothing but the cold shoulder from SL bosses here. Anyway Melbourne Storm is now his destination and I feel he would have jumped ship anyway once that opportunity came along.

But fair's fair, unless I am missing something it was Superleague who decided they would let TWP in. So it's Superleague that look stupid?? It's Superleague that are to blame for this. Perhaps McManus could explain why they took the decision to accept them. The only explanation I have seen is Rimmer wanted them in SL and SL didn't want the middle eights anymore - so a deal was reportedly done.

It's sad all the guff reported now fails to just admit Argyle's lost interest, do those peddling the nonsense about Covid being their downfall or how Argylle has run out of money    not have the wherewithall to tell us what really happened rather than just cut and paste SL press releases?

This.....

"Melbourne Storm has radically changed its ownership structure, with majority shareholder Bart Campbell halving his stake and negotiations opening with David Argyle, the billionaire mining magnate owner of the Toronto Wolfpack, to take a share".

Minute he got a chance of the NRL he was off. What rubbish the RL press have been peddling, worse than the trolls on here

Forget the Superleagues search for a new club, latest from Bob Hunter.....

"Toronto Wolfpack chairman Bob Hunter is confident of meeting a Super League deadline of August 31 to find new owners for the Canadian club. We are working very hard and aggressively to see if we can present a new owner in the next week to 10 days," "We're still working officially with three different groups but one owner is getting closer to the top.

"We have been asked by Super League to make that presentation, along with a full set of financial supporting documents, to them by the end of this month and we're still focused on that target date. "Super League and the RFL would have to approve the owner and, if we can get over that hurdle, the Super League owners would have to support us coming back into Super League next year.

"I think we can meet the deadline." Hunter says talks are "delicate" but all three bidders have the aim of keeping the club in Toronto. The club received a barrage of bad publicity after players revealed they have not been paid for three months and several have found new clubs, including marquee pair Sonny Bill Williams and Ricky Leutele, but Hunter believes they could be tempted to return under new management. I know that Sonny Bill wants to come back and I think Ricky at the end of the day would like to come back"

What a relief this is..... :D

"Toronto Wolfpack chairman Bob Hunter is confident of meeting a Super League deadline of August 31st......"

LATEST..........

"The takeover of Toronto Wolfpack remains up in the air as the club looks to finalise a deal with new investors.Officials were hoping that a new buyer would have been secured by this weekend, with one consortium showing increased intent in purchasing the club. But a delay has stopped a deal being finalised, with the club's staff informed on Friday evening that there was a hold-up in Canada. There is pressure on the Wolfpack to complete a takeover, with Super League setting the club a deadline of August 31st"

Seven days to save the dream........
