Sure feels like with some of the people on here.

Certainly cant criticise any heartland clubs on here thats for sure.

It's not about not criticising them, there's plenty to criticise, it's about recognising the differences in the the situations.

Re: TWP in trouble : Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:09 pm
Come on chaps, get real. The owner is a multi millionaire, he is a grafter, he’s been a work horse. He has got where he has because of his hard work and his knowledge of business. He knows about investments. A lot of people in Canada rely on this chap for their income. To protect his other business interests he has simply pulled the plug on TWP because this is the easy option. Yet he will pick it up again in the 2021 season. If he is prepared to do that now what will stop him doing it again in the future.
Let’s go back when it all started, TWP wanted to join SL Europe. They made promises to the RFL and SL, Chairmen was informed what was going to happen, the CEO of TWP made promises galore, the promises are there in black and white.
No share of the money from Sky.
Payment of airfares to Canada for the opposing teams.
Hotels etc
He would develop their own players in time.
I am not saying he misled people, but most people bought into it. He has been on a signing spree, it seems between 2 and 4 players will be signing from the Rhinos or ex Rhinos for next season, I ask you to listen to the current squad, they are not even paying their current squad on time, how can you plan for next season when you cannot complete this season.
I say again KW wife does not have a good word to say,
If we are to forgive and forget, then TWP should not be allowed to keep signing players for next season until they give a financial undertaking.
Only at the start of this season did they ask for a higher salary cap, they wanted rules for them and different rules for others. Good luck to them, but what happens if it does not work, like all individuals they pull the plug in an area that leases affects them. When on a budget why would anyone sign players past their best on big salaries.
This was a disaster waiting to happen, it’s time the RFL and SL employ someone who can do a professional job and market this great sport and not go for global prominence with some hair brain scheme,
If you honestly thought this exercise was going to work you are delusional, Santa Clause really exists.

Allegedly they had to be taken to court for non-payment to their original kit supplier, they faced a winding up order for non-payment of legal fees (Ryan Bailey UK Anti Doping case) & had to be chased up for payment of transfer fees for Caton-Brown, Westerman & O'Brien. The players haven't been paid recently and there may be other creditors waiting for payments. Regardless of whether COVID-19 and / or visa issues have scuppered them for this season it seems to me that they've always had money or cash flow problems.

It looks like the end of TWP for me, he seems to be left with the begging bowl, if it was that easy to raise capital all the clubs would be doing it. I think it’s time for SL and the RFL to put them out of their misery and kick them out. No team from North America is going to work, surely starting a NA league would now seem a better option going forward. No Chairman in SL is going to agree to give this team a share of Sky money, in these tough times they need every penny they have. It’s over

Just what I said several pages back mate.
Build up the game in NA and pull it up at grass roots level to get a sound foundation.
Then try again in 4 or 5 years time that is if SL exists.
You never know some SL clubs might be looking to join the NA set up!

Yes .even the NFL are taking things slowly in getting a foothold over here and they are mega wealthy. First they tried NFL Europe now they're having games at Wembley every year with a view to starting a franchise in near future. The stories coming from this TWP thing paying wages late ,but signing SBW for how many million contract ? What the annoying thing is RL being left with egg on its face again
