That £250,000 is only half of what was going to the team who was relegated from SL as a parachute payment. So what about the other £250,000?

You do realise it was not given at all and it was a loan that has been offered IF the RFL wish to borrow from it?

It has to be paid back. Clubs can apply to the RFL for it however that could be rejected if the RFL don't see it being paid back.

Maybe, but there would have been a few cricket scores as lower league players are still only training individually or in small groups.

Not really. For at least one (and I'm pretty sure I've seen a second also say) entry is dependent on being able to have a certain sized (paying) crowd present, otherwise they can't afford to be in.
