As for us it seems our policy of young mobile predominantly UK forwards Smith has put together may suit the new rules? One good win doesn't mean much in isolation but you can see what Smith is trying to do.

It is clearly his preference to move the ball about and try things. However, he has talked about having to play this way as well. Obviously, with Mose Masoe’s very serious injury and Garbutt’s struggles to put a run of games together, we’ve lost a lot of the ability we did have to offer a challenge down the middle. There’s a lot of uncertainty going into next season, but I still hope we can avoid talk of a mobile pack. If you can threaten down the middle as well, that’s going to be much more effective.

For me the biggest improvement from Warrington, through Saints to Wigan was in defence. If we can defend effectively and consistently while playing small ball, then maybe mobile can work. It has failed so many times that it is taking me time to get my head around it. A few more wins, and I might be persuaded.

Jamie Ellis Returns To Leigh Centurions For 2021

Leigh Centurions are delighted to confirm the signing of experienced half-back Jamie Ellis from Hull KR for the 2021 season.

It will be Ellis' second stint at the Club having had a memorable season under the management of Ian Millward in 20

Reading Albert Kelly may join Leigh also? This doesn't surprise me after giving Leigh our 17 and tactics few year back. The fact Blair and the others refused to play alongside this man says enough. Wonderful player mind.Just get the impression hes a disruptive type and doesn't take many of them to kill a team from the inside?

No, it was created via direct quotes from your Chairman pre-season. He either believes it’s going to happen or he was playing season pass salesman again. Could be both I suppose.

I know plenty of FC fans who bought into the hype (again).

To be honest I think we have a team that should be challenging, we just need the right coaching team, someone who isn't afraid to change our style and drop underperforming players. Covid came at a really bad time for us, as if it hadn't happened then we would have a new coach by now. It seems to have the opposite effect for Rovers (Ignoring the financial impact and NH leaving) and the threat of relegation taken away they can play younger players and play with more freedom. It's something I hope we can do, play younger players and see what they can do and take some positive away from this awful season. I think we will have a new coach in place next year, I just hope it is the right man for the job.

Sounds like we’ll be better off without him then. Thanks for the insight mate :thumb:

The following doesn’t make great reading for you reds. “It depends what our finances can afford. There won’t be many coming in for next season, that’s for sure.”

Got to agree, it does.nt make great reading. That said, all clubs with the odd exception will find finances tight for the foreseeable future, and they either cut their cloth accordingly or potentially go bust. I,m happy with the ones retained but would have liked to keep at least a couple more, but what we have left seems to me, to leave us very light(again) in the pack, which has been a regular problem for us for too long at that,s a big concern. Maybe it,s part of the master plan to go with a "mobile" pack again, but that has never worked for us, or maybe other options will join us or be in the pipeline, but I am fed up with being in the bottom four and it grates that teams such as Salford seem to be thriving with a tiny support base, but the have a very wealthy owner which helps big time.
As it stands it looks like we will only have 22-23 players unless others arrive, or one or two not yet offered contracts are taken on. Worrying times for players and clubs, but lets hope the clubs take the right course.
As for FC, I could be wrong but I thought they had lots of players on contracts that they could not offload and will have therefore to be paid, unless another club takes them, which in this climate seems unlikely, and bearing in mind what AP has intimated previously, I don,t think FC are in a great position either, in fact they could be worse if they are committed to wages that they cannot offload...who knows. What will be will be, lets just hope we have both clubs surviving and prospering in the foreseeable future, but Rovers to prosper more, obviously!

Hull Kr finances are already fully in place for next season (2021) as has already been clarified by Neil Hudgell. Do keep up slowcoach.
