I agree some of those comments probably shouldn't have been made...neither should Chester's about players....these guys are under huge pressure though, something us as fans don't have on our shoulders...

Some criticism may be fair on both, but a lot is way over the top for me for two guys who are doing everything in their powers to make a success of things in very trying times and are just getting abuse all over the place....it's the unfortunate world we live in now with social media etc..

The supporters of this club have been extremely fair with carter and extremely fair with Chester, they have put money in let the club keep their season ticket money and stayed very loyal. Now it’s professional sport and you know it’s results based and 5 from 28 is not acceptable. We’ve been in decline for 18 months to 2 years and I don’t blame carter he’s giving Chester what he’s asking for but he’s not seeing what we need. We are getting older/ slower we can’t make ground we can’t make breaks and we’ve no pace in the pack. As any player improved in the last 2 years I can’t think of one. You see every team know if you can contain our pack we offer nothing than a pass to the left or a pass to the right it’s easy. I have to say the way we are playing at the moment and team selection it looks like the coach doesn’t know what he’s doing.

I'm not great at stats, but from my memory of the stats that Sky throw up, I make that 31 missed tackles and that sounds like an awful lot.
do you ever feel like when we are on our line or say in our 20 that we are going to defend it, I don’t our line defence as been shocking for 10 years or more. It’s all down to urgency to switch on and work hard and if you can’t your not fit enough

All the stats are from players who’s first responsibility is the middle channel, with the exception of Pitts.
Now far be it from me to decry the hard work done in the middle channel but with all due respect the largest number of tackles are always made in that channel and they’re often the most direct collisions and not a lot of evasion is present.

What those stats don’t tell you is how static were those players when it came to mapping out from the play the ball toward the edges as the attacks went wider. Maybe they did this or maybe not, experience of the last couple of hundred games would suggest they didn’t do this enough or with any consistency.

Only a thorough analysis of the defensive misses will tell you where the genesis of a missed tackle truly formed and who was ALSO at fault for it.

Static  I suggest you watch the game again, so the middle men drift out left and right every attack to cover woeful outside defence. They put agile players out there, you know the ones with a bit of pace, to cover that and it’s one of our Achilles heels at the moment.

A point of note for those of us who love their stats is that since the restart and the introduction of the new rules the tackle and meter counts have increased substantially across the board. What was a good set of stats in February now might not be as impressive as it was previously.

I absolutely agree. Making 5 great tackles but waving the 6th one through is no good to anyone.
I'm interpreting stats that don't give the full story. For me it does show that we are doing too much work. Better execution reduces the number of tackles needed and missed tackles.
It's not a lack of effort think. Kopczak is a good example. His stats show good work with ball in hand but we can blast holes in the defense all the way up the field but when we get there we don't have the player to set our attack going or even put pressure on.

I believe that what you were saying was that majority of the middle men’s tackles were racked up by attackers running straight at them and with the restart in place this has been increased, but what I was trying to say was that there is a lot of defensive tackles occur in other areas and crucial tackles as well, not that the recent scorelines suggests that

To me it's significant that a lot of discussion on here is about our defence, which probably shows how woeful our attack is and that we're actually having to defend so much! Attack is the best form of defence they say - I wish I could see light at the end of the tunnel but without that onfield general, we all seem to realise we need, I can't see where improvement is coming from.,

omg we can’t make breaks, we can’t get field position and we can’t make ground
