You keep accepting mediocrity and failure but blaming everything and everyone else, there is a reason why our club is the laughing stock of rugby.

Other than the ground would you care to expand on your comment about our club being the laughing stock of rugby.

On the bright side we can not get as many key player injured as we do ,when we play Catalans next week ,because so many are out with injuries all ready

That's not much of a "bright side".
The main positive of the Hull game was the performance of our pack, who, more than competed for 80 minutes and they will need to be as good or, possibly better on Friday.
It's still difficult to see how we get a win against them but, if we can keep turning them around, as Wire did yesterday, there is a (very) faint glimmer of hope.
Mind you, I'm not sure if we have enough backs available.
We have a squad "full of full backs" but, I'm not sure who will be playing at 1 or, who will be partnering Lino.

OFFSIDE
When off side 1. A player is off side except when he is in his own ingoal if the ball touches, is touched, held or kicked, by one of his own team behind him.

Out of Play 2. An off side player shall not take any part in the game or attempt in any way to influence the course of the game. He shall not encroach within ten metres of an opponent who is waiting for the ball and shall immediately retire ten metres from any opponent who first secures possession of the ball.

Placed onside 3. An off side player is placed onside if:

(a) an opponent moves ten metres or more with the ball.

(b) an opponent touches the ball without retaining it.

(c) one of his own team in possession of the ball runs in front of him.

(d) one of his own team kicks or knocks the ball forward and takes up a position in front of him in the field of play.

(e) he retires behind the point where the ball was last touched by one of his own team.

Crowther charged the ball and was in front of mason

so there you go now, while your at it read the rest of the rules

Former referee Ian Smith, who until relatively recently was still working for the RFL has confirmed on twitter that the decision was wrong as he should have been deemed out of play due to not being onside at the play the ball. Apparently the video refs remit doesn’t stretch to checking offside at the play the ball so it was the on-field officials that got that wrong.

“Out of Play” as opposed to “off side” 3. Players who are out of play at a play-the-ball (Section 11), a scrum (Section 12), a kick off or drop-out (Section 8) a penalty kick (Section 13) or a free kick (Section 13) are not put “on side” in the manner described in para 3 above. (Seeappropriate Sections).

Indeed. It seems he was 'out of play' rather than offside.

Retire at play-the-ball (g) players of the side not in possession other than the player taking part in the play-the-ball and the acting half back are out of play if they fail to retire ten (10) metres from the point at which the ball is played or to their own goal lines. Players of the side in possession other than the player taking part in the play-the-ball and the acting halfback must retire behind their players involved in the play-the-ball or to their own goal
line.

well the rules above come from the rfl and is clearly within whats in red, are you looking at Crowther being off side at the charge down or mason who was at the side of the play the ball?

I got my quotes above from your link to the RFL laws.

I'm sure they could make it more difficult to read if they tried.

He was technically out of play rather than offside which is defined in section 11 and the difference is referred to in the notes at the bottom of the section you quoted- which means it is not reset by our player touching the ball in front of him.

I'm still not sure I fully understand 'downtown' which is also there and Kirmo was pinged for a couple of years ago.

You are mixing up 2 different rules. The bit you quoted is written for say, being in front of the kicker.

If you carry on down the page that you linked to you will find this section:

“Out of Play” as opposed to “off side” 3. Players who are out of play at a play-the-ball (Section 11), a scrum (Section 12), a kick off or drop-out (Section 8 ) a penalty kick (Section 13) or a free kick (Section 13) are not put “on side” in the manner described in para 3 above. (Seeappropriate Sections).

It's kind of ironic that you have told him to read the rest of rules whilst he's at it but didn't bother doing that yourself.

It wasn't a try, but it didn't matter in the end so I can't get too upset about it. We got lucky with the red card so it's swings and roundabouts.
