Webster had the new coach bounce but then a disastrous season the following year, when he was sacked after Brian Smith took over. Unfortunately, however, he'd won two games by this point in the season, which is two more than we currently have.

Not that it matters much but Webster resigned, he wasn't sacked. MC wanted him to stay if memory servers me correctly.

Yes, I think you're right.

The point I was making was really that he had a disastrous season but by this point he had won two games (the first two, from memory), which is two more than us at the moment.

In fairness to the team, they have all been relatively tough fixtures. Leeds twice, Saints, Hull, Catalans, Wigan. All losable in a normal season. I'm not ruling out the picture being a little rosier in a couple of months time.

I can't remember the first game from that year, but I think the second game was against Hull KR, and Albert Kelly hadn't quite shown what he can do at that stage.

Until then, however, the only team I look out for is Leigh.

Yes we won our first 2 then lost a close controversial match against Saints, picked up loads of injuries and that was that.

Worst I've seen involving a Rugby League player since the incident that had Greg Johnson getting jailed.
