Toulose and playoffs : Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:27 pm
Toulouse asking to have there playoffs games at home.

This would not work under covid rules so are the rfl to bend over and give them a win or make them play in the uk at a neutral venue.

The whole French team in the league this year is a joke with games been canceled as part time teams cant travel

Although covid rules may well dictate when and where games have to be played, they should be playing their playoff games at the venue based on their league finish, just as every other side would expect.
They have already been disadvantaged with most Championship clubs not having travelled to France and therefore have had to win all of their away fixtures to maintain top spot.
Having said that, nothing is simple and it would make sense for everyone to know what plans are in place if they are to face part time opposition in their play off games.
Could the play offs somehow become part of "elite competition", which may get around quarantine rules and/or will the players all have been double jabbed by the time the play offs come round, making quarantine less of a necessity.

With Toulouse (and Fev) having been top of the pile all season, you would hope that those in charge have already thought about this and made contingency plans ?

I think it's the contingency will involve closing your eyes and crossing your fingers.

Can see it coming Toulouse played far less games but finish top and play fev in the final in france with no play offs at all

Tbh, I'd be happy for either Toulouse or Fev to get promoted, both of whom should have been in front of Leigh in getting the nod last season.
As a Trinity fan, the derby games against Fev were always great and its only 5 miles away win/win :D

How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

Why should Toulouse or Fev have been given the nod over Leigh last year, all 3 were unbeaten?

Personally, with Fev having been beaten finalists by the now ceased Toronto, the promotion position should have reverted to them, particularly as only 4/5 games had been played in 2020 and nothing meaningful could be gleaned from so few results.

I understand that the depth of DB's pockets and Leigh being a good bet to at least complete the season probably swung the vote but, Fev IMO deserved the nod.

TBF Wrenners, It's needed Degsey's deep pockets to keep this season going with still 12 teams. Imagine the situation if Fev or Toulouse were in this position right now financialy in SL?

I agree entirely, with the TV money dropping rich owners become even more important....
