Seen as things have gone a little quiet on the players front ATM ,what are your thoughts on the Salford /Ipswich jets partnership.Personally I think if it comes off it’s a great move by both outfits ,to share not only players ,but ideas both on and off the field .Whatever we think about the Aussie game it’s light years ahead in just about every department ,and I can only see good things coming out of it which will benefit Salford’s up and coming players getting a taste of how things are done in Aus .Don’t know how far down the line this has gone to actually set this up ,I’d say,but good forward thinking

It would be better if they actually had an academy and worked to develop UK players. Any player movement will be limited to quota spots though platers may come over on student visas. I'm not sure what this achieves for the UK game as a whole.

Reading some players autobiography’s players like Barry McDermott and lee briers who had spell in Aus and France respectively as youngster amongst others and said it did their development the world of good.

Certainly would for a club like ours with a thriving academy setup. It would also be a selling point to any good youngster in the area to join Trinity.

I think the point that was made by FSW is that Salford don't have an academy so they wouldn't be able to send anyone across there anyway. It would be more likely a way for Ipswich to send their players to get SL experience.

Salford can't affoad to pay their rent so not sure how they would be able to finance the travel etc.

I presume they are hoping that because the new trade agreement with Australia allows free movement then it will enable more junior players to come over visa free.

I'd certainly do it with the right club.
We've got a few links in Oz that could set something up.
Not sure how appealing it will look for them coming to us but let's see.

The most glaring tie-up is with JD at South. The tie-up would be with their Reserve/Junior teams at Redfern. Also Russel Crow I suspect is open to English players for obvious reasons.

To send players such as Greensmith, Eseh, or Bowes for example for a short spell would do them the world of good. It would make them better players and help them mature as people.

It's actually something I suspect sponsors and fans would be willing to support.

I'd run it along the lines of a reward for the three most improved young players in a season, something like that.

How it would work to benefit Souths I'm not sure but there could be something we can offer.

It's a 'thinking outside the box' thing but there may be something in it for us.
