I thought we looked a much better side with O'Neill at 9 last night

It's the first time he's played that Iv felt he had a bit of presence about him on the field. Looked confident and vocal.

It’s taken some time but the last 2 weeks have been more akin to the lad I’ve seen in the academy. Confident, playing up tempo and with some aggression and getting out from dummy half, testing defences.

Certainly showed more confidence and had more zip than Powell

Good to see Havard getting the plaudits, the hard work is paying off. He does all the simple things really well.

Reminds me of a young Stuart Fielden, upright running style and gets over the top of the defender. Massive potential and seems like he has the right attitude to go with it.

I've been saying the same for the last few weeks. He just needs to add a bit more aggression/intenstity

I never thought I’d see it but Powell did a few scoots from dummy half. Hope this is carried on

Considering he was up against Leutele, KPP was outstanding in defence, nothing got through him. Did absolutely nothing with the ball though.

Havard was solid off the bench but would like to see that more often, rather than just against poor packs. Against tougher packs this season he's has not really been effective. Ellis carried much better but for some reason he was only on for about 10 mins either side of HT whereas Havard played 60 mins.

Byrne's defence and those big hits were great, but it just proved how that doesn't translate into points for us. We need field position and strong carries in transition, plus runners off the ball, rather than expending all energy in defence.

And I'm not Shorrocks' biggest fan but he was also great off the bench. Smithies I thought was poor in comparison. Shorrocks has to replace Singleton in the 17 for the rest of the year IMO.

I agree that Shorrocks did well but not that Smithies didn’t. In those early stages, when the game was full throttle, I thought Smithies took it to them on both sides of the ball. Asiata is an experienced NRL player and him snd Smithies had a really good early battle. It’s all about balance for me. It felt like we found a nice balance on Thursday, with the likes of Byrne, Powell and Smithies starting and Havard, O’Neill and Shorrocks coming on as replacements. They opened us up a bit, once the early scraps had died down a little.
