No, I thought I'd link to your preferred rag for a change. I appreciate it's less reliable and despite its name seems to have developed it's own slanted agenda these days but nevertheless the subject is a thought-provoking one.

It doesn't even say how many would vote Nazi themselves.

If you asked people in the UK whether the BNP would gain seats in an election, quite a few would say yes.
Doesn't mean they'd vote for them.

As for whether life was "not all bad" under the Nazis, some things, whilst immensely outweighed by the bad, some things would have been good ... full employment, trains running on time etc.

There is no "Central European mindset".
The article did not say how many people said they would personally vote Nazi.
The article didn't even say whether they'd been asked that question.
Hence you are extrapolating from your own notion of what the "Central European mindset" is.

They might be all jackbooted, goose-stepping fascist fanatics ... but the point is that article does not tell you so and, hence, is not "food for thought" in the way you are making out.

By the way, Central Europe isn't just Austria.

Well, talking of "the central European mindset", I'm off to Lübeck on me own next month – finally all booked after procrastination caused by a combination of work commitments making scheduling difficult, and downright terror.
