It's been fun.

Dredd one of the best of the year and totally ignored by filmgoers. I am hoping it gets a better deal by word of mouth. This film definitely deserves a follow up, but is unlikely to get it. If you do one thing in January buy this on Bluray/DVD on it's release.

It could get another if the DVD does well eg Taken flopped at the cinema but went massive on DVD.

Total Recall, had a better back story & setting than the original but nowhere near the same feel, couldn't connect with the Quaid character with Farrell in the role but not the worst film i've seen

Only watched a cam version so far. Completely and utterly hated everything about it. Gonna rent a DVD copy to give it a second chance but doubt it will improve much.

Safe, enjoyed it but like a lot of Jason Statham plot holes a plenty and nothing special, you could have stuck a suit on him and called it Transporter (enter No. here).

Haven't watched Safe, but I have seen Blitz, where Statham plays a renegade London cop. Should give that a miss and just watch the Sweeney film.

Contraband, daft, don't bother.

Didn't think it was that bad. But no one would be missing much if they didn't see it. You are able to enjoy Beckinsale in it, which I wasn't even able to in Total Recall.

I enjoyed watching Chocolate on film 4 last night , The fight scenes in it are great. Watch Skyfall today , Not a bond fan but probably the best of the ones I've seen .

Just finished watching Kieslowski's 'Three Colours' trilogy that has been getting an airing on SkyArts.

Particularly enjoyed 'White' although critically deemed the weakest of the three.
Darkly comic at times were the the other two could have been guilty of taking themselves a little bit too seriously imo.

I bit the bullett and went to watch Reacher.........typical Cruise film but they butcherd the story and i was sat there thinking that wasnt in book on about 4 occasions...didnt give enough time to the accused and the condition he had in the book that meant he definately didnt do it..all in all a poor film and if they are to do any more...keep cruise away from it as Reacher is 6-5 and not a bloody midget.

Texas Chainsaw 3D - Quite good actually and plenty of gore too. Lead actress is a stunner.

Watched Life of Pi last night. Cracking film. Great story, beautiful cinematography and great effects. What really made it for me was the use of 3D, mostly used subtly to add a little depth but where in needed to come flying out of the screen it was spectacular, easily the best 3D film I've seen yet.

We watched Life of Pi yesterday. It was a most unusual film. Personally, I thought it was brilliant - as an adventure film, the beauty of the way it was shot (especially the night scenes) and its thought-provoking nature. Best film I have seen in a long while.
