The latest man to be 'elected' to the House of Lords is Viscount Matt Ridley, whose main achievement in life seems to have been presiding over the Northern Rock debacle. He will be taking the Conservative whip. Mind, in second place in this 'election' was Douglas 'clean my moat at the taxpayers' expense' Hogg. Did they really not have any better candidates?

Can't remember Keith Vaz having a duck island or being a major player in the biggest banking scandal in history.
