Summer holiday season is nearly upon us, so time for everyone to brag about where they are going this year!
Where are you off to?
I'm looking at going to Dubai in September for a week - never been before so looking for any advice on where to go, where to avoid, what to do while there etc???

We live in austere times. If you can afford to go abroad why don't you stay at home an donate what you save to a worthy cause?

Portugal for three or four days in June on a maintenance visit and then I really have to organise something for our 30th wedding anniversary in September, or so she says anyway.
Personally I'd be happy with a day out to Hawes - she ain't going to stand for that though.

The Gold and Spice Souks are worth a visit. The Wild Wadi Water Park is a good day out with the added bonus of looking out on to the Burj-al-Arab hotel. The Mall of the Emirates dwarves anything we have in the UK, it even has an indoor ski slope, so it's either shopping heaven or a bit of a nightmare.
6 nights in New York over new year - wifes choice. She wants to be in Times Square at midnight new years eve, sounds like a nightmare when you read up on it - Help Anybody???
