Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

What do you think BMW are going to do if the import tariffs from Europe hit sales?

They will simply open factories here - we have demonstrated that when it comes to vehicle manufacture the UK is as good as it gets.

We have a strong services sector which exports.

What services are you talking about ??
It's to be hoped you aren't wanting to rely on the financial services sector, which currently makes a fortune from being the clearing bank for the EU. Like they will want that to carry on

The Germans will be rubbing their hands at the thought of this work moving over to the EU

I am confused this is the 5/6th biggest economy in the world but according to some on here it doesn't manufacture anything, it has no research capability, it has very limited financial services so what does it have to get to the size it is?

The financial centre in London deals with much more than just clearing for Europe - let's face e are not going to export our own clearing are we?

Yes if the UK was the only country you could work - these top people can work anywhere in the world. To think if you put a cap here they would all just stay is naive in the extreme.

Except most UK plc have boards made up of a few public school educated Brits. Most would not go elsewhere as they would have to demostrate capability.

So what you are saying is, if Brexit costs lots of people their jobs and homes, its ok because it may get better for the country in 7 years time?

I wonder if you would be advocating this if you lost your home tjob because of it.

Why do you think such a melodramatic outcome is likely? We managed over 900 years as an independent country not within the EU. Why the panic?

I'll vote conservative. I'm pretty lukewarm about Theresa May and indeed my local MP but the alternatives are not credible.

There are lots of people whose jobs depend on the EU. When that goes and if they can't get an equivalent job then that is what will happen. Saying we were fine before the EU is just a typical bury your head in the sand and hope for the best attitude. Or are you the 'I'm alright Jack so sod everyone else' type of person?

The country has more people employed than ever before
and 700,000 vacancies. Not sure there is reason to worry too much. Not all jobs (if any) that 'depend' on EU will go. Depends on what is negotiated and how individual businesses react. We were told by the BBC and former Chancellor that the wheels would drop off big time just on the outcome of vote itself. They did not. There are much bigger threats to the economy than being out or in EU. It is a side-show.
