Halifax 44 Toulouse 28 Match reaction : Sat Jul 30, 2011 11:54 pm
Well, like the Halifax of old, goes to show we are no worse off without Calland, but could do we Noble for the rest of the season to "steady the ship".Penkywicz, though pretty error prone today, made the difference again setting up a number of tries.
Barlow had one of his off days. Azuie made some huge surges in attack. Paul Smith is starting to impress again, Worrincy showed his "gaff-prone" mode tonight but White was very good and that pick up of the ball for his last try was sublime. The ref made some poor decisions. First, he awarded Toulouse a try which had a hint of obstruction then awarded Danny Jones a try when I think half his body was in the dead ball zone, and he allowed Toulouse to push up in defence a little too quick for most of the game and made a few incorrect decisions when the ball had gone to ground.
If any other team barring York or maybe Dewsbury were playing us today, we would have got beat.
Though I'll greatfully take the 3 points.
The bottom line is, if Noble doesn't stay on, we ain't getting anywhere near to the Grand Final.
Jacob Fairbank started in the 13 for Huddersfield today, and with no Black, Nash, Bannister & Patterson, a results a result I suppose.
MOM for me
Azuie
Penkywicz
