Agreed. Thing is they are all good players who can play well, if a bit more professionalism fitness/diet /weight wise was taken they would be even better players. Don't get me wrong they are good players who are playing well but theres still the potential to be even better. Sadly I think the mentality of some players in this league is its a hobby, unless your a young player looking to make it in the game or super league theres no incentive to really look after yourself.
Take Dickens for example, never going to be in super league yet looks after himself and its paid dividends in his career at this level. Be the best you can be even at this level. Sadly too many players do the bare minimum to compete at this level and waste the potontial they have. Murrel is a good player and can see and open a gap yet doesnt have any pace to go through it, dropping a stone or 2 would surely benefit his game massively.
I run marathons now due to the knees being shot from rugby and with each half a stone I lose I notice a massive difference in my speed, recovery time, fitness, cardio capacity and lung capacity, losing a stone or 2 totally changes you. I think a few of our good players can easily become better players from getting a bit leaner. It just depends how serious they take being a semi pro athlete and if they want to improve from being a good player to an even better one.
