Seems a fairly simple and logical move by Mr Poskitt. I guess it'll bring a degree of accountability to the role, take some pressure off the BOD and stop things drifting as they probably have done in the past.
I'd like to see the club pitch up with a stall for a couple of weekends before Christmas say on Southgate (opp Wilkinsons) and start to get a little bit of a presence in the town centre again, become more visible if you like (I'm sure the Council will lend a stall or two).
Maybe create a new membership scheme, a free draw in return for contact details, merchandise on sale, competitions, players handing out free teas, coffees and pastries, the faxettes putting on a show, the club mascot, tiran can maybe put together a short promotional film that can be played on decent sized screen, hand out flyers......owt.
Get stuck in and start reconnecting with the town centre........just a thought

Good move provided they have some power and the one I keep going on and on about is to look after the club sponsors and be consistent in what they do, look after the sponsors they are precious in this day and age.

The Supporters Trust have already have this organised Sat 15th Nov , it is primarily to sell some bric a brac ( all contributions greatfully received ) but also to raise awareness re` the Rugby Club .

Ermm......a jumble sale selling dead mans shoes, jigsaws with bits missing and Fergies autobiography wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. I don't want to disparage the Supporters Trust attempts here but I'd say we need to lift the bar a little higher in terms of raising the clubs profile and winning back some goodwill.
Let's not confuse having a jumble sale to raise a few quid with a slick, organised, thought out promotional exercise.
Good luck with the jumble sale but leave the rest to Mr Poskitt and the exec.
Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
During Leighs recent doldrums the volunteer CEO set up a ' proffessional Support Group of mostly retired ex businessmen, club volunteers and loal government management, but apart from a couple of successe they achieved little and were essentially a think tank
Ultimatly it is down to the directors to set budgets to achieve club development, simple as
