Shame we missed him. Really liked his style of play. The best back we had in recent years. But we will see what Cas have!

Could we not afford him then? Dreading this season with a manufactured RFL darling side like Toronto adding to our woes.

Hate to say it but I am dreading this season for the first time in ages starting at Fev who just beat Leeds.

Hope I am wrong but gonna be a toil....

Yes, quality player that stood out from the rest everytime I saw him play.

To be fair Leeds played only 2 of their likely starting 13 and there were a lot of young lads (and I mean including 16yos), though some of them are very talented.

You nearly beat us with at least six or seven of your starters missing (and the remainder taken off well before the end) in the pre-season game a couple of weeks ago. We will need to improve a lot on that performance if we are to beat you on opening day (though we went okay last night).

If we lose at your place, the season will be over with the end of the world to follow shortly after.

On the other hand if we win at your place, we will be nailed on for the top 4 at least and maybe Super League here we come.

I think with the state of finances MM inherited , wrestling for survival has been paramount before being able to sign anyone remotely commanding a "quality"price tag . He knows what's gone wrong before , players budget way over the top for the players signed , IMO an absolutely bonkers shop merchandise franchise which probably wasted half his year sorting out all the nonsense and a commercial budget where income which wasn't coming in, is now looking very encouraging.
So the bottom line is its over to RM to use to the full the Cas "golden gamble" player deal and try win top 4 games. Use it or loose it time. A winning team makes money and we now hopefully have a change in key management not to blow it all.

Nick looked highly promising during his (brief) loan spell at Leigh last season. Brief the stay may have been, but it was undoubtedly enough to guarantee Toronto signing him! He should fit in as the FOURTEENTH ex-Leyther in their squad!

Incredibly, the Toronto players have far more experience of playing at LSV on Sunday, than the Leigh players!!
