13300 Capacity Stadium : Thu Aug 12, 2010 4:10 pm
I know there is another thread and if the mods think it deserves to be attached to the other thread (which is the male anatomy measuring competition) then so be it, however, I feel this is more positive and deserves a new thread.

Cas are building a 13,300 capacity stadium - we already know plans are on view, however, it gives more information about timeframes etc.

October - PP Submitted
Spring - Building commences
May - base of pitch laid
February - Opening of new stadium. 8)

Doubt everything, even this

Re: 13300 Capacity Stadium : Thu Aug 12, 2010 4:15 pm
Yeah, noticed that just now. The question it raises with me (which I suspect won't be answered until I'm in the ground tomorrow night) is 13,300 as the first phase, or the completed stadium?

We should only be considering phasing if the RFL decide to increase capacity sizes in future. I'd be happy to have a 12k bog standard capacity stadium if that's what the criteria was.

Another timeframe, let's see if we hit the October submission deadline first, then if we get planning permission I might start to believe.

Excellent news, and can't wait to see the designs tomorrow. From now on let's hope all the doom and gloom surrounding our stadium build is behind us, that we can be positive and our club finally deliver the goods.

Looks like we're still getting the standing area also which is good news for many. I hope the club have used this opportunity to force us all to congragate along the touchline now and do away with the changing of ends.

Agree with that, once in the ground thats where you have to stay for the full game.

Sounds like the standing area will be down one touch line, this should be for the WREnders.
The seating area behind the post at one side should be for the away fans.

Looking forward tomorrow. cant wait to see the plans.

Perhaps I've missed a previous announcement or two, but as far as I'm concerned this is the most constructive and authorative statement that's been made to date.

It covers the exact details/promises that have had me worried for quite some time.

No doubt some (Cas and Wakey fans alike) will find a way to deride this - but if such people could apply some objectivity, then it's the type of text that when other Super League clubs come out with similar agendas, it makes people take notice.

Until these events occur we, of course, need to be cautious; but, at this precise moment our franchise chances are looking very good

You would also assume from this that Surf world had not even been in the minds for a while now or am I to believe they were rubbed out this morning :)

Marshy yes looking forward to standing in the new ground with our boys :)

BUT I will still only believe it when we have a moan at a ref inside the new ground lol

I haven't read the P&C today but someone told me there's something in it about a "swimming pool or something" and all though that person didn't really read the article they thought it was to do with Cas or Wakey. Can anyone add to this and fill me in if there was anything in todays P&C?

Yeah Binks, can't wait for it. I'm guessing you'll be looking at the detailed plans tomorrow to see where the best bar is? :) I'm thinking i might be down the lane pretty early tomorrow, i just don't think i'll be able to sit at home knowing there's a whole show going on.
