Somebody (ahem) did a detailed guide to the food and drink options of Headingley and its environs that used to sit on the SS.com website - sadly it got lost in one of the multitude of server crashes RFLANS used to experience on a regular basis a few years ago.
Perhaps someone familiar with the area would like to take up the challenge of re-doing it so we can post it as a sticky for opposition speccies?
A quick effort:
A: The Arc
One of those "trendy wine bar types". Takes forever to get served and your wallet gets emptied when you eventually do.
B: Trio
Underground bar. Quite an intimate atmosphere but from that point on, see description above.
C: Headingley Taps
Looks huge from the outside, tiny when you get inside. Usual nitrokeg stuff. Expect to overspill into the car park on busier days.
D: Arcadia
One of Headingley's best kept secrets. Plenty of real ales / micro brewery stuff if that's your kind of thing.
E: The Box
Probably the most popular bar in Headingley. Has a late licence. Not difficult getting served but if the Arc didn't empty your wallet, this one probably will on anything but whichever crappy lager they've got an overstock of.
F: The Skyrack
Usual Greene King sort of place. People say it's one of the cheaper ones in Headingley but not sure I agree.
G: The Original Oak
Giant beer garden and excellent in the summer. One of my personal favourites.
H: The Supporters Club
Think Phoenix Nights. Busy on match days, not so busy the rest of the time.
I don't know enough about the other three to give a fair review. If anyone wants to add one then just add it to the thread:
I: The Three Horseshoes
J: Woodies
K: The New Inn
Likewise, if anyone wants to add places to eat then feel free.
