| The idea that Fifta might be irredeemabley crocked is a bit shaky in my opinion. Over the last five years he has played 25, 23, 26, 21, and then last year when he had a couple of injuries, 12 games. It's worth pointing out that despite those injuries he played in about 60% of the games, and in all of the last five, so he is not currently injured. I think those stats compare favourably with the majority of our squad. I don't think for a minute that GH and KS would risk blowing big money on a crock. Trust them to get it right.

| While in principle I am against the signing of fifita based on salary vs injury risk. He could still be a pivotal player if we signed him dependent on how he is used. He has a knee problem which hampers his ability to train properly and this won't change. There is no evidence that he will breakdown and not be able to play however his overall fitness level is lower which in games affects his ability to play for longer spells. Where he has been most effective this year has been when he has been used as an impact forward from the bench in 15 minutes spells in each half. Used this way he could offer real impetus to the team in the way Walmsley does at saints. All depends how you want to spend your money.

Definitely would be a massive impact off the bench against tiring middles, but do you want to sign a big money player to play 2 15 min periods in a game, personally I believe that would still be a massive addition to our squad and allows rotation of the likes of mik and Holroyd! Fingers crossed, as a sharks fan I’ve seen the impact he can make in the NRL and think he would be even better in SL

| And if he goes through the same medical that Gale went through and passes then I would be even more sure he is the right guy for us

| Worth noting that the softer pitches in superleague would help him as well. Its just hard to see past his current salary with 2 years left on his contract. If we paid him the same level could wreck morale across rest of the club

| Yeah we do need to be careful on spanking too much money on just one or two players relative to the rest. Having said that, if you want real quality you have to pay for it.
I'm sure we're looking quite hard to get the right player.

Deffo, Kev is trying to build a team ethos and that sort of move would shatter any progress towards it, unless the players are consulted

| He'd have to rip up trees to warrant big money on 15 mins a half. That said, 15 mins in the nrl could be 20 plus mins here. If he lived up to the hype that would do me.

| Quote Ex-Swarcliffe Rhino="Ex-Swarcliffe Rhino"The first couple of times Darth came out with this it was kinda believable, now he's kidding no one.
Its now become an unwanted yearly exercise of his to try and dampen doexpectation on signings that just rubs people up the wrong way.'"
Agree with this. As Frosties has said as well Crosby, Cuthbo and Ward have been known exits for a long time and we have signed nobody whilst Wigan have got Bateman and Field coming in and have got Hastings and French to stay. Saints have signed Joel Thompson, Paasi and Sione Matuia to replace 3 overseas forwards leaving.
Rather than his annual Oliver Twist poverty spin, perhaps GH and Caddick should be looking for new investors on the board who have a bit of fire in their belly and willing to ensure we can compete properly for SL title.
Bring in Bodene Thompson is not cutting in for me. An 8 year old can see we need some new forwards.
