I could just as easily suggest that this points to a challenging season, in so far as one of the best teams, with no CC run to speak of, was unable to muster victories at will.

I've seen a number of players and coaches say throughout the year that the new structure made the league a much tougher and intense competition. Talk about how you need to be on it every week whereas teams often talked about peaking at certain points during the old format. Peacock for one talked about how the previous years lacked in intensity......still what does Peacock know eh?

Yep, this sort of thing is becoming common on these boards (Not just Smokey btw). To summarise;

- Smokey and a Giants fan don't believe the LLS should be given any extra significance when won as part of the treble or under the new league structure (and have kind of explained why they feel this way)

- Many others believe the new structure does make winning the LLS more difficult (and have given reasons they believe this) and also believe winning it as part of a treble makes it more significant (and have given reasonable explanations for why they believe this)

So rather than petty point scoring, and trying to 'prove' ones opinion is more correct than the others, why not just discuss the pro's and con's of each, accept there are different opinions and move on.... It's getting tedious sometimes and I think plenty of people are turning away from what can be a real good platform for sharing thoughts, opinions, news, rumours etc....

There's no prize for who gets the most 'wins' on here... It's good to have different opinions... Don't feel the need to keep going over and over the same ground to try and prove that everyone should have exactly the same opinion as you as 'yours is right'.

I think when a thread has run its course as this one obviously has ,some have their opinions and others the opposite and ne'er the twain shall meet.The Mods should say enough and close it before it just becomes another slanging match

just to be clear i do believe the LLS should be given extra significance when won as part of a treble and i think it is far harder to win a treble. I just dont think its harder on its own to win the LLS.

Is it reasonable to think GH consulted senior players on how the dressing room would accept him?

If it is then they have clearly shown their support and we have signed a very good player who will add many good qualities to an already talented squad.

If not then there is an element of risk. No matter how good the player if he is shunned it will impact his ability to settle and his form. It could also impact other players form via disrupting morale.

My totally uneducated guess is senior players were involved and are supportive.

Our job as fans is now that he has signed to support him also.
