Hull to Leeds is, at best, a sideways move. Leeds are still the bigger club, I won't argue against that, but there isn't a huge difference. We aren't talking about Wakefield or Salford. Hull are in a better position to be challenging for trophies in the near future. If you sign him it will be for 1 reason, more money.

So you have to offer him a contract big enough to turn his head. And then, because he is contracted, you have to offer enough of a fee for Hull to let him leave. Allegedly you have already offered £500,000 and been knocked back. How much are you offering this time?

Tom Briscoe might disagree with that. As bad as they are now a large number of players in the current Leeds team won a GF only a couple of years ago. Did I miss a trophy landslide on Humberside in the last couple of years?

The league table doesn't lie this far into a season, Hull are much the better team, anyone arguing against that is beyond blinkered.

But..

Leeds have the much better recent pedigree, bigger fan base, more commercial pull etc.. I've no issue with Connor coming for the money, and if we can bring in a few more quality players we can get to Hulls level quite easily.

Of course we don't want to just get to Hulls level, we want to get to the top. So while hull are the better side now, things can change quickly.

It's irrelevant, it's history. Right now Hull's prospects of winning anything in the next 2 or 3 years are better than Leeds'. We could do the double this year (it's highly unlikely of course, but it's possible), whereas you aren't even sure you will stay up.

Connor may well sign for you, I don't know. Your current situation probably doesn't matter to him, if you got relegated he knows that there would be clubs queueing up to sign him, so it's not such a big deal. But make no mistake, if he did, it would be for the cash.

Yeah, I can see the pull of a championship winners medal next year being a big pull for the lad
