Jeez, FWIW I think Hull play some brilliant rugby league, I still think that there are too many little lapses that can cost you in big games and that they are very much "rocks or diamonds" but one things for sure, they are interesting to watch for that reason. That being said "on their day" they can beat anyone.

Anyhoo, if we can leave out the grumbling over petty tribal issues lets try and get back on subject fellas.

No doubt he has skills but he is a bit maverick and that does not make for a good halfback, we already have Dwyer running wherever he fancies.

He can play the organising role when he needs to. Usually he is alongside Sneyd who deals with the kicking and organising, so it frees him up to express himself. But he has played that role occasionally in Sneyd's absence and can do it. He also played 7 for England against France where he gave a much more restrained performance and took on most of the kicking duties. Or perhaps a better example would be at the magic weekend last year where he played in the halves in a very young injury hit side (Liam Harris was his half back partner) and ran the show.

It's not his best role though. To get the best out of him you need an organiser alongside him so that he can be let loose to do what he does best. But he is just a supremely talented player, wherever you put him he will find a way to influence a game.

Thanks - good to get an insider view so to speak.

I would agree his better role would be to have more freedom. While signing Connor would be great, I feel our bigger need is an organising half.

Hmmm yes im feeling the same.. the club will hsve a lot to answer for if theyve let Watkins go without bringing someone top drawer in this season.. waiting with baited breath

I see the two things as pretty much unconnected. We’ve let Watkins leave because it’s the right thing to do for a guy who has given his all for Leeds for years. If we recruit given the now available salary cap, we’ll thats another thing in my mind.

There's a difference between short termism, which is what HKR's strategy appears, & a longer term strategy, which I think Leeds are pursuing. It's a gamble granted.

What we need is the lack of a quality HB sorting as well as a Head Coach. That needs sorting asap no point looking at 2020 & beyond with the absolute $#*t storm we are facing here & now.

On two I would definitely agree, but think Livett is a top signing for them. Usually when you get a loan, there is always the chance of turning it permanent. If Hull KR are thinking that way, then that is a great deal.

On the coach, I don't think I would bring one in now this season. I think it would be incredibly unfair on any coach now. We have messed up and left it far too late.
