That said, Agar pointed out in the YEP that he was chuffed with Golding's performance in his last game, so perhaps it isn't all so black and white against Golding as some seem to point out.

He isn't up to the standard of people he is competing with, and he certainly isn't anywhere near the standard some fans think he is.

However, I was under the impression that the reason for none picking is that he gets an increase in his contract after so many games, and he is very close to that. That came from someone from the Featherstone club. So maybe the club are more using their heads, as they have been trying all season to let him go.

Look at it from the point of view that, a lot of loan signings have been made by super league clubs this year, some terrible ones. And yet, despite Golding been available all year, no one has come in for him.

I disagree. On a personal level, I do feel for Golding, he clearly loves the club, has a brilliant attitude and works hard. Unfortunately for the lad, he's just not up to it. I doubt he would get into any other SL team as a starting fullback.

This is a business decision, and someone who through not playing is a wasted salary at the moment in a salary capped sport. Across the squad you should be at a certain standard to play for Leeds, and he's an easy one to get shot of right now. Others should be following him out the door soon.

If we could all Golding's positive attributes into a player like Sutcliffe, you'd have a great player. At the moment at Fev, I think he has found his level, even if he does get the odd MOM.

I'd be very surprised if we ended up landing Hastings. Especially given the figure banded about in the press this week was that Salford had asked for £400k as a release fee to let him go now.

Sorry if this has already been said on the thread, been busy last day and cba reading through.

Mick gledhill saying last night on the full 80 that Jackson Hastings is a done deal £275k for this season and I assume beyond . Craig Harrison suggesting they may wait till Salford believe they’re safe before it happens

Whilst I can see the logic in Salford wanting to make sure they are safe it would seem odd for Leeds, who are the ones in real trouble, to be happy to wait. It could be weeks till Salford are safe by which point who knows where we could be.

It would probably still be worth it if its for 8 games as long as we've got him on a decent contract after that

I've still got a feeling he'll sign for Wigan...
