For all the criticism of Sinfield he had to go with Myler and Tui at half back at start of this year as they was both on long term deals. Neither was his signings but that's the reason the rebuild will take time. Stupid long term deals given to average or in these cases below average players.

Having said that I'm not convinced by Lui.

If you put Lui with a good game manager he will go ok. Though as well all know we are in desperate need of a game manager which is why this looks an odd move if done in isolation.

There simply has to be a game managing hb on the way as well. There must be.

You're not getting Hastings for this or next year I thought that was common knowledge by now. His mum put on the Salford fan group on FB that you had offered him a 3yr deal but he wants to go home by then. Same situation last year with when Wigan came in for him and he chose to stay at Salford.

I really would not get hung up on media reported figures.

What's impressive though is how well progressed Salford appear to be in building a squad for next season, and there are the beginnings of a solid 19 in there, if of course an article in the Scum is to be believed...

It's alright getting in some decent players for next year and Watson has done a brilliant job on peanuts but if you've got no halves to work with doesn't matter who the rest of your squad is. Part of the recruitment is to try and persuade Jacko to stay another year and to prove we have the players to compete in the top half of the table. I just wish we could pull in an extra 1500 fans at home games to make Watto and Blease's job a hell of a lot easier.

Gutted about Lui going as him and Jacko work great together but if we have to balance the books then I guess it's rather him than Jacko. Oh and I'm gonna upset a few Leeds fans here but I think Jacko will only go elsewhere in SL for a genuine chance of winning silverware. Let's be honest that ain't gonna happen at Leeds for at least 12 months.... by which time he'll hopefully have a gig in the NRL. He's best mates with Lussick as well and they live together and if we can match any offer that Leeds and Wigan put on the table I think he'll stay with us. If it was a long-term move then obviously Leeds or Wigan would be a more viable option as they'll pull themselves together eventually but it's 12 months so not sure it'll happen. I have a feeling Koukash may well make up any shortfall in wages to keep him at the AJ Bell.

As for Lui, class player. Any of your fans saying otherwise are just plain dumb or don't want to admit that you've fallen so far you have to try and cherry pick Salford's best players to stay up!

He's not what's needed but much better than lolohea, if it happens the future doesn't look good for tui, you certainly can't have them in the same team

Interesting reading the Salford forum, they rate him very very highly, I think were just going to see how he goes, put it this way I’m more confident of picking up some wins with someone like Lui in the halves rather than what we’ve got
