As a point of principle I agree but in reality this is much more difficult.

Do we really want a marquee spot tied up in a player, our captain no less, that doesn't want to be here for reasonable family reasons.

I know we have given him a window to move and he didn't but that was because he couldnt get what he wanted, no it seems, he can.

Terrible timing, awful for Leeds but sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

Leeds basically have two choices, the can continue as they are with Mez here and available to play but with regular press distraction, or they can reach an agreement with him to leave and it all goes away but we lose probably our best forward.

He has to stay until we have another solution. Tough one for Kev.

If he is as honorable as people seem to think he may be doing a deal for 2021, that wouldnt surprise me as much as him leaving now after deadline has passsed

And I think that would be fair on both club and player, as an aside I obviously don't know his and his partners personal situations and has someone who has suffered from homesickness I do actually have a lot of sympathy but long term thinking I would be having the child here so it can get dual citizenship!

If he wants to go, allow him to leave with best wishes. But get it done NOW. Still time to get a replacement. Think we need someone with some real speed in the backs. A Scott Donald type would be fine!

I would rather we sign like for like.Is there any top NRL backrowers up for grabs?

For me we’re pretty well covered in the pack, assuming Prior a done deal. Think we should give Cameron Smith the LF role at beginning of season and full backing. Time he kicked on...

If that doesn't work we have only 3 backrowers of quality and one of those probably wont play a full season then Suttcliffe and Donaldson as cover who are average at best.If we want to be pushing for a the play offs we need forwards of quality more than outside backs.

Wow, I’m glad you ain’t picking the squad as we would definitely be relegated. A winger is required but not as much as the pack. I’ve heard that Merrin is definitely going and we are looking around, which personally I’m fuming about because we won’t get any fee, we are mugs sometimes. We need to replace him with a leader and either a prop or second rower.

Just having a look on Twitter seems Prior is a done deal, signed for 3 years.

Im also pretty sure Merrin will go, whilst I appreciate family comes first he’s really messed us around IMO he should have just stayed in Aus rather than coming back and making statements about how committed he is
