I can still see a scenario where we survive the drop with these new faces and he takes the job for next season after being offered it.

Really we should have someone in place now or set up for next season and coming in back end of the year after the Furner axing or why axe him before the end of the season anyway? That is looking more ridiculous by the day.

Like others have said, its not case of toys out of pram if Agar stays on just a realisation or exasperation that it is going to keep us down in the doldrums for longer.

I would like to see a “proper” coach in place to take over from this off season.
However there should be some more signings to come and the playing squad could be decent for 2020 suddenly - if they get it right.
Maybe not a silverware year but you would expect Leeds to improve.
Sinfield won’t want another Furner and it will have to be the right coach - probably someone who is currently contracted or even happy at their current club.

Of course Agar said publically he doesn't want the job as he already has another job at the club. If he goes out publically and says he wants the job and doesn't get it he looks a bit of a fool and would look like a kick in the teeth.

As a coach he wants the job. He wouldn't be doing it if he didnt want it. Not many coaches would turn the Leeds job down if offered it certainly not coaches at the status of Agar.

If the club thought Agar would be accepted by the fans he would have been appointed already. He is respected and trusted by Sinfield and it's his job to lose as I've said from the start.

Totally agree and the last point is key to this in my eyes.

Sinfield seems to wield a lot of power so whoever comes in will be expected to work in a way that Sinny wants. Furner paid the price for that.

Furner didn't pay the price for that. Furner paid the price for falling out with a player, and unfortunatley it happend to be just the one player the club wouldn't accept.

Interesting, care to elaborate? I can only assume you may mean JJB?

I'm a bit surprised by how negative all the reaction is regarding Agar. I can't say I'm thrilled with the appointment, but surely we can at least judge him on how the team performs. I for one think there has been an improvement so far under him - at least we're competing!

The overwhelming response from player who have played under him on twitter was really positive, and I think it's also fair to say that people can improve in there jobs and get better where the may have made mistakes in the past. He's gone to Aus to learn there, and has just had Wayne Bennett in for some sessions. Strikes me as someone who wants to get better....

Depends what style we want. Agar strikes me as a thinker and manager. I liked what he was saying when he came in, regarding the areas we were weakest in. Some improvements seen.
We don't need perfect this year, we just need good enough to avoid relegation. The Tui for Lui swap will potentially be the big one IMO. Lui isn't the best player in the world but he does have a skill set we massively lack at half.

Totally agree. It's all fine to say we want a 'better' coach, but better how? Also, there isn't a large pool of really great coaches in RL let alone a large pool desperate to come to us.

I get why agar doesn't get people all moist but at least give him some credit for getting the team interested again.
