looks like he has shed most of his beer gut. he sure needed to, no excuses for full time top level half backs looking like he did but looks like he has put some work in over the last couple of months and addressed it, fair play to him.

He’s been like that for quite a while. I posted about it last season. He was photographed in training with no top on and he’s certainly not fat. I just think he’s got one of those natural stocky builds that makes him look it at times when he’s a shirt on

i'm not so sure Hurrell has the same excuse

He looks far from lean to me: I think people think he is lean because he has big arms and shoulders. He's probably strategically placed his joggers to hide his gut and is breathing in. He clearly had a big gut on him last season.



Hurrell can make himself look relatively lean when breathing in, tensing and getting a picture / video from a good angle.



That video to me does not evidence that he has lost weight but guess we shall see in March / April.

I remember last season a team made a break and the only one tracking back was Lui who made the tackle and prevented a long distance try, I think hes just of a stocky build

His build is none of our business. Just hopes he performs on the field next season.

I actually rate Lui (not a worldbeater but an ok player), however, I think he could be a lot better player if in better shape. Hopefully he has taken steps to rectify this, this offseason.

Totally agree.A big season from hin will significantly improve us as a team.

Lui is a chunky player and strong. He can hit in D as a result. What he isn't is fleet of foot and really pacy - it is just the type of 6 he is.



If we want a different style of 6 we need a different player, not some mythological transformation of an existing one which is never going to happen.



Same with Hurrell - we signed what we signed. These are mature professionals who've been in the game since their teens. Whatever potential they were going to have, they have had the time to reach it. Very rare to see a mature player transform - what tends to happen is a young player gradually develops physically into their mid-20s and then it's a fight against decrepitude

He’s naturally stocky, from what I’ve seen, he looks pretty trim, I honestly don’t see how he’s too heavy/overweight/fat.

Also there’s a difference between commenting and saying he’s a disgrace for an athlete like some on here have said

He is naturally stocky but last season he looked to be carrying too weight around his belly.JJB was a stocky player but never looked podgy around his middle. Lui did look a little leaner in the Instagram video.

I think he’s just one of those builds that makes him look overweight.

As long as he trains hard and gets fit, I’m ok with him for another year.

Hoping Long can have an influence on him in the next few months and bring the best out of him.

Still looks over weight to me, for a halfback. We have a massive issue with obesity in the west though I guess he is lean by everyday standards.

Exactly, by every day standards he is lean albeit, for a pro rugby league half back, he is overweight. Although he is never going to be lightening fast now, I think a stone off would do him the world of good and improve him a lot. Its one thing being stocky, its another matter carrying a large gut.
