Sounds more like a load of Neanderthal heartless b@stds to me.
I couldn't possibly comment.
I bet you are really proud to work for this company and would be prepared to go the extra mile for them?
Yeah, it's called the one minute mile. It takes me one minute to shut down the PC, collect my stuff and get to the security feature to release myself spot on the finish time.
They don't specialise in employment law by any chance do they?
They know all about it and so can comfortably skirt it but no, they are ambulance chasers.

Anyone who stayed with such a company needs to get a grip of themselves and realise what priorities are in life.
I know what my priorities are in life: supporting myself.
Lawyers are incredibly slow and ineffecient, so taking a day off to be at the birth of your child is hardly going to cause an outrage.
Wrong approach. Lawyers love money. They make hoards of it. Their firms are ruled by a handful of partners who have many cars and many houses. They squeeze the last droplet of everything from staff: no sick pay, no paid compassionate leave, minimal annual leave, no flexi time.
Work is work, it pays the bills. You give as much to it as you are prepared to in order to get a higher salary.
I'm not a lawyer, I just work for a firm of lawyers. They pay well for what I do but the reason I went for the job was because it was the only one around at the time when I moved back over here.
BUT if you are the kind of person who accepts not being able to go the birth of your child because of work, you are not the kind of person who should be having children in the first place.
I'm retraining soon as a primary school teacher. If I was a bloke and my wife was about to give birth, would you as a parent (if you were one) be happy for me to walk out of the class at a moment's notice to attend the birth of my child?
"The team that doesn't win this weekend will be big favourites to win Super League," said the Leeds chief.
"Losing in the fourth round will give them four free weekends in the lead up to the play-offs.
"Last year, Saints and Leeds were fully occupied every week, up to and including the cup semi-final stage.
"I think the team that doesn't win on Sunday will have a significant advantage going into the play-offs.
"There will be some consolation for the team that doesn't win, though it won't seem so at the time."
Hetherington added: "Of course it is possible to win both, especially for Leeds and Saints, who are two outstanding teams. But for Sunday's winning team, it will be that much more difficult to win the league."
Hetherington refused to reveal which competition is Rhinos' number one target.
He said: "We have an opportunity to create history by winning three successive Grand Finals.
"That is very much in our focus, right throughout the club.
"But, equally, we haven't won the Challenge Cup for 10 years.

They must not, under any circumstances WHATSOEVER, be allowed to make history ...! (Except maybe to be the first club in the SL era to miss two opportunities to make history)

Just wondering.
Yes, of course I would. Schools have contingency plans such as head teachers and department heads who can cover lessons. Being at the birth of your child is one of life's essential things. The only people who I would not expect to be given that time off are those in the armed forces, as dashing back from the front line isn't really a viable option. Working in a law firm isn't a valid excuse to miss out, and if it were me, I would tell them where to stick their refusal to grant leave and walk out. Money, houses and cars are all very nice if you like that kind of materialistic thing, but people are more important, particularly your young ones.
Just who is this law firm you work for? I'm going to send them a letter.

Think he is being a bit presumtious there, and a bit disrespective to the other teams in thinking that whoever wins is gonna have the disadvantage of having to play four games.
There is nothing to say that whoever wins on Sunday will get a bad draw and lose in the next round.
