He's very intelligent. Which is most important. Bradford should sign Bamber Gascoigne.

Yeah, agree with you there. Hopefully he will be a good signing for you, it's better to bring an average English player in than an average Aussie or Kiwi.

Given the increased restrictions on overseas players, this will be an area all clubs look at more closely. I'd first look to the academy and if a position can't be filled from there and no top quality overseas player is available then NL should be the next port of call.

I couldn't agree more with the above posts

The Rhinos are describing this signing as a "work-in-progress" , so will not be on mega bucks, hopefully the kid will thrive in the full-time professional enviroment at the club and turn out to be a successful signing for both club and country

I agree that the NL's are littered with players, that, if given the opportunity at a higher level, could make the transition, surely all SL clubs could afford a place in their squad for such a player?

I'd bet that all SL clubs have signed big money players from overseas which have turned out to be a complete waste of time and money, i know that we have in the past.

agree with a lot of that but look at reaction from a substantial element on here when we signed players from 'lesser' SL clubs like wakey and quins. The fact that some of these players have gone on to be our best performers seems to have been overlooked.

imagine the uproar from them if we started signing players from NL clubs

The difference is that the majority of Bradford's first team signings of the last two seasons have been from teams traditionally perceived as bottom-half of SL, such as Cas, Wakey, Hudds and Quins. As these clubs are now sitting above Bradford in the table, perhaps further recruitment in these areas will see a reversal of fortunes for 2010?

When you're a Bradford fan there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Unfortunately it's usually an oncoming train

speaking of NL1 players, what do people think of Ellis at Barrow? He seems a clever 9 and he's got some pace and guile too

is a 9 a priority given we have godwin on a long deal plus horton nearly ready to come through? If we can get newton/rinaldi on a 1 year deal dont think we need to look at bringing another 9 in.

He could be just the type to spend 79 minutes next to Macca while Newton limps around the field.
