Indeed McClennan said after that game when asked about it,he had cleared it with the referee (who was Gerry Kershaw) before kick-off who said it was ok to do it.
In fact the try should have been dissallowed because George Mann was offside when Harrison headed it forward but obviously Kershaw was waiting for the move and gave the try immediatley amongst all the confusion!
