So basically, this season is pointless.

Whoever wins it will have an asterisk against their name because the competition has lost a good deal of its integrity, what with rule changes, teams dropping out etc. Add to that, a large amount of games will have absolutely nothing riding on them and be all but dead rubbers. Sky Sports cancelled for six months then.

They will indeed, Toronto are a 'free ride' and Covid 19 has been part of the problem, but they still should have finished the season.

What a slap in the face for ambitious Champ clubs. Only the RFL could release the “no promotion or relegation” news, on the same day (and after) the Toronto “sorry we don’t want to play this year, but we are good to go in SL next year” news. Easy fix for me (and I have been for TWP in the competitions over the years). Demote TWP at the end of the season, and hold a home and away playoff process for any Champ team interested in gaining promotion. If TWP want to continue in the British league system then it is a farce if they are not made to do what any other team would be made to do in this situation. The SL teams have voted to continue the competition, Toronto must be told, compete or be demoted.

'The Betfred Championship and League 1 clubs will be invited to play in a competition this autumn, with a theme of celebrating the sport’s 125th anniversary – and with a prize pot of £250,000, thanks in part to financial support from the Betfred Super League clubs. Further details of this competition will follow this week – it will be voluntary, and there will be a detailed application process requiring clubs to prove their ability to meet the necessary protocols and medical standards. Read that again carefully.... 'There will be no 'automatic' promotion to the Betfred Super League from this competition.'. It might not be automatic, but it WILL happen, to the club that has the best chance of surviving AND bringing in big crowds asap (when safe ) Even Donny Osmond agrees. Good man, I dd say you would come round to my plans.
