I'm assuming it's because whatever viewing figures are available, they are impossible to manipulate in a positive way.

Should be interesting witnessing the outpouring of moonie rage during the weekend embracing Oct 10th.

Not only is it the SL Grand Final at Old Trafford, but on the same day England are playing at the Etihad in the Rugby Union World Cup.

I wonder where the media interest will be focused that day?

Sadler & Co will have the press gallery all to themselves.

What's under discussion is the lack of media coverage afforded to league and as a side issue, the apparent dis proportionate attention afforded to union. It is an ogyen repeated thread on rl forum's which is met with distain by posters like you who have nothing but name calling to offer.

I suspected that SL match viewers would have gone down, but it is disappointing to see that its gone down that much. As I've said before, the quality of top level rugby league in Europe has gone down since 2006, mainly due to the Aussie dollar comparing better with the pound obviously.

But as far as comparing internationals is concerned, they bring out people who have no idea about rugby union, they're occasions, like people who have no interest in tennis and have never played it watch Wimbledon, and even go to Wimbledon, and Ascot in July, when they wouldn't know one end of a horse from the other.

And there's far too much "international" rugby union, as many involved in RU have said.

But I'm expecting SKY viewership of RL to go up over the next 2 years.
