Whilst there will be lots of negative publicity ("RL failure" etc) if he jumps ship early, in the medium term it would be great if he comes back having failed, as it will hopefully lessen the impetus for RU to sign other RL players. He wasn't the only one getting stick, I see Farrell did too, so the influence of ex-RL players will hopefully diminish.
I've said on the Leeds forum that I'm not actually sure I'd want him at Leeds. Not in the playing sense, that's a no-brainer, but because of the potential impact on the team ethos that's been built up over a decade. In fact the more I think about it I'd only want him at Leeds if he was paid within the existing structure - the marquee player clause is exactly the sort of thing that could lead to big disruption within a squad (its not like Tomkins at Wigan who was already on big money before he left).
