| Leeds have scored four tries against Manly which Melbourne could not do in last year's NRL grand final. Melbourne could not score one.
Leeds lost their star scrum half, the attacking genius Robert Burrow, in the first half of tonight's game. Melbourne did not suffer that setback in last years NRL GF. However Melbourne lost their star hooker Cameron Smith before the NRL GF. Smith is a star international and Australian captain who was instrumental in the Melbourne attack.
I think that Leeds would have a good chance against Melbourne. So, depending on their performance on the day, either Leeds are second or third best club in the world.

| Manly may well be the greatest rugby league club the world has seen -- apart from Brisbane in 1992, Mal Meninga's Canberra of 1994, and Melbourne's 1999 NRL winning team.
Manly possess a powerful pack of mobile forwards, a tremendous scrum half in Matt Orford, the sublime St Helens icon Jamie Lyon along with Kiwi star Steve Matai in the centres, and the brilliant Brett Stewart at full back. Add to that the coaching skills of Desmond Hasler. It is impossible for a Leeds team, absent the attacking genius Robert Burrow, to match that talent.

| Shame to see that the second best team in England is not the best team in the world.

It is a pity. But St Helens will get their chance next year if Gary Hetherington gets his way. The Leeds managerial and marketing tyro has proposed that next time the top three clubs of each competition play each other. That competition, if properly developed, would give either St Helens or Les Catalans the chance to prove itself, briefly, the best in the world.

no...
only leeds and saints could compete in the nrl week in week out.
rob burrow, watch the way he 'steers' around england, great off the cuff but thats about it. good no 14 thats about it.
leeds were lucky manly didnt put 40 past them before slowing down with 20mins left. they were scrappy today but still put leeds to the sword. it hurts me to say it, as I'm a true manly hater
