Solution to what? The Marathon clash or the scheduling?
The Marathon isn't an issue on Saturday as it goes nowhere near Anfield, whilst the Sunday marathon is due to start for "fun runners" at 10.30am, with a 6 hr time limit permitted before racers will be taken off the roads.
Given Anfield is situated at the 6-7 mile stage, it is fair to assume that all runners will be past this point by 12.30 at the latest, with a view to all roads being opened again soon thereafter.
Given day 1 last year didn't start until 3pm, I would imagine that both days will finish with a 7.30pm KO and feature at least one team from the area.......
...which dovetails nicely into scheduling.
Day 1
Salford v Hull KR
Leeds v London
St Helens v Castleford
Day 2
Huddersfield v Hull FC
Wakefield v Catalans
Wigan v Warrington
Both sets of Hull fans travel in decent numbers and even if they're not hanging around for the other 2 games, they'll be there in enough numbers to make the place look OK.
I can see day 1 getting close to 40k and day 2 over 30k.....the marathon clash isn't ideal, but Anfield/Liverpool council are obviously willing to pay more than the Geordies.
Both sets of Hull fans can leave home at 10am and be tucked up in bed by 9pm if they fancy the day trip.......
