Although it is very tragic for Samuel Burgess that he has been forced by injury to retire early, it is very good for him that he been able to acquire a non-playing position at the club, and one which remunerates him equal to the original contract total, but spread out over the next ten years (obviously he will receive much less money each year than if would have he was playing, but he will pay a much lower tax rate than he would have had to pay if he received the money over the original three years).

Toulouse for Championship in 2017, Super League in 2021!

Avignon for Championship in 2021, Super League in 2022!
