Credit it where it is due. : Thu Apr 22, 2021 6:04 pm
Am in favour of matches being spread out over Thursday to Sunday.
The staggered kick offs maximises listening and viewing for the fans.
Hope that whoever's has done this keeps it up but why was this not done before?
Now can you please stop all these silly M62 trips on Friday nights!

As opposed to a silly M62 trip on a Thursday afternoon if fans were able to attend Wigan vs Cas?

I've long said that there should be a ban on games taking place at the same time as games are on TV. Some Friday nights there can be 40k plus sat in other grounds when a TV game is on, drains the audience from SKY and therefore the TV money. Also Sunday games with no TV game to distract means bigger away crowds.

Interestingly though a number of SL clubs have chosen, over the years, to move their KOs from 3pm Sunday (when there's not usually any televised RL) to Thu-Sat nights - as they believed their attendance was better irrespective of a clash with other televised games.

I think trying to avoid a Sunday fixture followed by a Thursday one, was a big consideration.

Not sure on other clubs but Leeds Rhinos make massive more money on corporate on a Friday Night compared to Sunday afternoon

Indeed.
Clubs have "rushed" to make their "game night" Friday as this means less disruption in the weekly routine.
Sunday to Thursday is a killer.

Corporate takings were a lot bigger on a Friday night as businesses liked to take clients to the game after work rather than spend a day of their weekend 'working' but post-Covid I'm not convinced Corporate jollies will be a thing anymore. Businesses have saved on office space, car parking, Xmas do's and buying the tea and coffee while people work from home and will now be used to those nice savings so can't imagine thousands being laid out for a trip to the Rugby.
